The World Cup is finally here in spectacular fashion!
This is Africa’s first ever World Cup event and everybody is just ecstatic.
South Africa’s new Green Point Stadium in Cape Town is hosting the 2010 World Cup’s most exciting semi-final games. The stadium can seat up to 56,000 people. The tournament is going on now and will end on July 11th.
There was some controversy leading up to the tournament surrounding the new tournament ball which is produced by Adidas. There were some who said that the ball had very unpredictable curving trajectories toward the end of its flight. The ball has a new type of construction method and appears to be performing normally.
Interestingly the first two matches of the tournament ended in a draw, with the match between South AfricaMexico and the United States vs. England concluding with a 1 to 1 score. vs. So far the highlight of the tournament came when South Africa’s Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the first goal of the competition.
